John Christopher (Chris) Beam is an accomplished professional with a distinguished career in the field of Operational and Managerial Accounting. He has served as the Managing Member of Above-Average Returns since October 2021.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Beam held the position of Director of Permian Basin Operations at Select Energy Services (NYSE: WTTR) from 2018 to 2021. In this capacity, he exhibited exemplary leadership by overseeing operations in the ultra-competitive Permian Basin region, contributing significantly to the company's success.

​

Mr. Beam's career also encompasses key leadership roles at Rockwater Energy Solutions. Before the merger with Select, he served as the General Manager of Permian Basin Operations from 2015 to 2017. During this period, his adept management skills were instrumental in achieving operational excellence.

​

In his earlier tenure at Rockwater Energy Solutions, from 2012 to 2014, Beam assumed the role of Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. His financial acumen and strategic insights played a pivotal role in the company's financial planning and decision-making processes.

​

Beyond the energy sector, he served as the Operational Controller at Texas Treasure Casino Cruises from 2005 until 2011, where he honed his financial expertise in a different industry segment.  Prior to Texas Treasure, Beam served as the Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Interconnect Services, a Data Communications and Software Development firm, where he led the company from 2000 to 2005.

The foundation of Beam's career was laid during his early years. He held various leadership roles throughout North America with Technical Oil Tool Corporation, a Division of Baker International, now known as Baker Hughes Co. (NYSE: BKR).

​

Beam completed his Undergraduate Studies at The University of Texas at Austin (McCombs), where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management Information Systems. Additionally, he obtained his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The University of Texas Permian Basin.

Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Beam is an active Mean-Reversion Options Trader, having honed his expertise under the guidance of Nishant Pant, a renowned author, full-time options trader, and founder of Trading Extremes. In addition to his trading pursuits, Beam actively engages with a global community of options traders, drawing from Nishant’s teachings and mentorship.

 

Beam holds FAA certifications as a Private Pilot (Airplane Single Engine Land with High-Performance Endorsement) and a Remote Pilot (Part 107 Small UAS).
